As Taiwan officially enters a super-aged society in 2025, long-term care issues are drawing increasing attention across all sectors. Recently, the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation launched the “Hui-Jia Long-Term Care” project to provide better care resources for families of vegetative patients in remote areas, inviting businesses and the public to participate in supporting disadvantaged groups.

Today (8th), the Foundation held a press conference in collaboration with SHEHFUNG, SHEHKAI, and HYE Group. SHEHKAI Director Ms. Lin Jia-Jia led senior executives, along with Chief Operating Officer Guan Chang-Sheng of Yu-Shan Environmental Engineering Co., PR representative Li Ying-Xuan from Hui-Lin Clinic, and Director Huang Yao-Jin from Legislator Chen Jing-Hui’s office, to jointly promote the ESG Public Welfare Children’s Theater – “Little Star’s Fantastic Adventure”. This initiative not only supports underprivileged individuals and promotes health and sustainability values, but also raises funds for the expansion projects of the Hualien and Chiayi care centers, helping to build a complete long-term care network.

Now in its third consecutive year, the children’s charity theater has received widespread acclaim. This year, it incorporates sustainability themes in the newly created play, “Little Star’s Fantastic Adventure”, teaching children how to interact with nature. The event was lively and joyful—actors from the Apple Theater, dressed in colorful costumes, danced onto the stage from both sides, accompanied by sparkling bubbles from bubble machines, playfully engaging with the audience. A large jigsaw puzzle was completed piece by piece on stage, conveying the warm messages of “Protecting Health, Protecting the Earth, and Supporting Vegetative Patients.”

Director Lin Jia-Jia remarked, “For SHEHFUNG, SHEHKAI, and HYE Group, public welfare is not just a charitable act but also a reflection of corporate social responsibility and commitment to sustainable development. We hope to inspire more people to pay attention to elderly and vulnerable care, and work together to build warm homes for impoverished vegetative patients.”

The Genesis Foundation’s Hualien branch is currently undergoing foundation piling and is expected to be completed in 2027 (ROC Year 116), while the new Chiayi center is in the process of underground Level B2 concrete pouring, with completion expected in 2026 (ROC Year 115). However, due to the sluggish economy, fundraising progress for the projects has only reached 10%, leaving a significant funding gap and raising concerns about future development.

The “Love Through Theater – ESG Public Welfare Children’s Play” will be performed on May 30 (Friday) at 3:30 PM at the Dadong Arts Center. A donation of NT$600 grants one admission ticket. The play aims to raise funds for the construction of the Hualien and Chiayi care centers through the power of performing arts. The production also allows for ticket donations to disadvantaged families, enabling more parents and children to experience the joy of theater, further spreading compassion and hope throughout society. The foundation sincerely invites businesses, organizations, and the public to support this initiative and help build warm, secure homes for vegetative patients in need.
